Yesterday I saw the best description of Tumblr: “Tumblr is very very easy, if you ever decide you want a drawer made of internet to put extra internet in.” And that is so true, haha!
Although I haven’t used Tumblr much at all, I have taken much advantage of the another “collection” site called Pinterest, which probably most everyone has heard of by now. (If you haven’t, where have you BEEN?!) I’m quite obsessed with it too. And you could probably say something similar, possibly that it is the “swag bag” or the “treasure box” of the Interwebs, which is full of your favorite things as well as cool surprises!
Here are some of my favorite DIY tutorials found on Pinterest:
Custom Planner
This tutorial inspired me to make my own planner although it wasn’t as custom as this!
Super cute amazingly customized planner!
Unpaper Towels
I actually started making these when I was on a sewing kick a few months ago and have finished edging around four. It’s still on my to do list to complete. :3
Cloth “paper” towels, reusable with snaps.
Leaf Embroidery
I used a basic tutorial to sew my own linen napkins and the tips from this to embroider leaves on them!
Birds Nest Necklaces
My sister actually made one of these for me (with white pearl beads as the “eggs”) and it is one of my favorite pieces of jewelry to wear! It’s simple and can pretty much go with anything.
Different colored beads used as “eggs”.
The Beekeeper’s Quilt
I’ve mentioned the BK quilt before, because it’s just that awesome. And yarn has been purchased to start this but I haven’t been able to yet! Nevertheless, this pattern has a cult following… and I am one of them.
Knitted “hexipuffs” with light weight yarns sewn together.
Confetti Eggs
When I lived in Mexico, I remember these being super popular at holiday parties. Everyone would either throw them against the ceiling (where they would explode and rain down the confetti) or smash them on other people’s heads! :D I was so excited to find a tutorial for this!!
Dyed eggs filled with glitter, so fun!
Cork Garden Labels
I must do this for my little garden, just to add a cute element. :D
A cork and bamboo skewer to label your plants!
Yay for Pinterest! Check out all the pinboards I have curated that contain more of my favorite stuffs. I usually love to save crafting tutorials, delicious recipes of all kinds, and inspiration for fashion and design. :D

ooo those confetti eggs look SPIFFY!! i want some :P
IKR! They are so fun. :D
I’m so going to do the linens!! I love the leaf :)
Fun stuff! What caught my attention was the confetti eggs. In the reading series I teach from, there is a story called Mama’s Birthday Present where this little boy Francisco is planning a birthday party for his mother. He and his friend Gina make confetti eggs to crack on peoples’ heads. My students always think it’s so weird. Even my Spanish speaking students. I guess maybe that’s an activity/tradition that their parents didn’t bring with them from Mexico!
