I graduated from my university last Friday! Woot! I now have my Bachelor’s Degree in Digital Media!
It was a sweltering 90-ish degrees outside and I was still literally melting from giving my family a tour of campus even after we moved inside for the ceremony. Blah! They don’t call Florida the Sunshine State for nothing. :P
I was sad that we didn’t get to throw our hats in the air! I think everyone was looking at each other and considering it…and even one lone guy at the front threw his hat but the moment passed. :P
Moving to Kentucky
My boyfriend, Chaz, came down for my graduation ceremony (which was fun times!) and then helped me pack up my apartment for the move. I threw away so much stuff, including my futon (a crappy $100 one from Walmart), some of my appliances, and at least five or six humongous black trash bags full of papers and whatnot!
Poor Chaz was moaning and groaning the whole time we were moving stuff around and packing it into the cars. On the flip side, I was happily skipping around while organizing everything! After a few hours of listening to him complain (and getting miffed about it) I finally realized that the reason he was so miserable was because he had only moved once in his life, as opposed to me who has moved 12 times across oceans and continents! So I empathized with him a bit after that. :P
It took a super fun 13 hours to drive from Florida to Kentucky, but we did it in ONE day! Woot! And I was too glad that my iPod actually lasted all the way up until the last 30 minutes of the trip! I’m not kidding! :D I just had a playlist of my favorites shuffling and on repeat. It took a lot of Fergie and other music to keep me awake. Also lots of Mountain Dew, hehe! So I’m here! Now all I have to do is um…get a job. :P I’ll work on that! Ha!
Onto the web stuff!
I’d like to plug Perfection, which is a design gallery for unique and lovely site designs. If you have a personal website, then check out the guidelines and join! :D It’s a very fun online community too.
Speaking of design, I also need to get working on a new one for this site! Seriously, it’s summer now and I’m getting tired of this color scheme. Oh yes, my online portfolio has officially launched as of last weekend, yay! Check it out if you like and see some of my work.
And wow, my Q*Bee friend Jessica made a fanlisting for me! For me! That is so sweet of her and it really made my day. :) Thanks so much, Jessica!

Wooot! Congrats on it being all official like :D! And even more yayness, your close to me now! *dances* Happy hunting for a job :D!
Chris was the same way last time we moved. He hadn’t ever really moved in his life, so I didn’t realize at first why he was griping. I’ve moved alto so it’s nothing new to me, but I can see how to someone who hasn’t moved alot it would seem crazy lol.
Awwww! Congrats on graduation, m’dear! And congrats on making it up to Kentucky! I’m jealous :) But good luck in the job search!
Wow. with a degree in that you’re sure to find work. In the last couple of weeks I’ve managed to get a little bit of freelance work and so I am sure you’ll deffo be able to get a job! I have a lousey degree in educational studies!
Congrats for getting graduated!
Hail to the conquering graduate! La da da da da da da daaaa! :award:
Ugh 90 degrees! How terribly uncomfortable!
I’m so going to go join your fansite!
Congrats! Good luck in the job search. It doesn’t sound like it should be too hard for you to find something in your field.
I’m excited that you graduated and got to finish up that bit of your life. So now I’m only what, 3 hours away from you (at the least) ;)
I’ve driven from Houston to Louisville in one day–took me about 12 hours and I swear I thought I was going to die by the time I was done driving. My iPod wouldn’t have made it though; I made sure to bring along my a/c power adapter to keep it charged.
Though I had to flip flop between charging it, and having my radar detector plugged in ;)
Moving.. *cringes* I’m not even entirely unpacked and I moved back in August o.O :gb:
I am so happy you graduated! And I am so glad you finally made it to Kentucky. I am sure you didn’t let Chaz sleep huh? :butterfly Things shouldn’t be to hard in the job department. Web designing is supposed to be an easy feild so I have been told.
I don’t even have an ipod. :ipod:
Oh and I am glad you liked your fanlisting. :D
Oh wow! Congrats Melissa! It sounds…daunting.
It hasn’t been very hot here in a while. Summer’s decided to ditch me.
Yay you’re in Kentucky!! Girl’s night! LOL!! No worries, I’ll keep my stalking down for a few weeks, let you get settled, ;)
I’ve moved so many times I lost count. It used to be from state to state untill I turned 13 years old. THen I had 2 houses from 13-18. After that, I’ve moved 2 or three times a year, a few of those from here to Texas. I hope I only have to move one more time and sit for a few years before another move, it’s getting quite tiresome. However, I have seriously considered requesting a loan from a bank or something to start my own packing service. XD
Yay!! Kentuckians rule!! And stuff!! :art:
And yes!!! Congratulations on your graduation!! Now what’s next?
Congratulations on graduating! You moving to KY is definitely Florida’s loss, though.
congratulations on your graduation :medal:, way to goooo and on the move too. I so fear moving as I hate packing lol but I love unpacking so justlook forward to that hehe
Hehe, yay, thanks everyone! :D
Hey sweetie I miss you! I hope your move is going smooth. Much love being sent your way
Congratulations on your graduation! That’s freaking awesome and you must feel so wonderful. That’s nice Chaz came to your ceremony. My dad fell asleep at my mother’s grad ceremony haha. I always get a kick out of that.
I still haven’t been accepted into the Q*bee. I just haven’t heard anything. It’s been over a month… probably more. I’m missing out on all this fun!! :(
Congrats on your graduation! That is so great that you have your degree now.
Congratulations on graduating! I’m so exicted for you about everything. :D Moving is a ton of work, but it can also be a lot of fun and very exciting! I’m so squeal-ish for you being with Chaz again! My family has driven to Florida from KY many a time. Fun times. :D
Oh, I also happen to own one of those crappy Wal-Mart futons. A black one. :D Man, I have some stuff I could totally throw away. I’m such a pack rat…..
If I haven’t told you already, congrats on graduating :D :D
